Dr Tao Yang MBBS, MSc, PhD, FRCPA is a staff specialist in Anatomical Pathology and Molecular Pathology at SydPath and Conjoint Associate Professor in the Discipline of Pathology at Western Sydney University.
He obtained his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from University of Queensland at the Centre for Kidney Disease Research, in the field of gene therapy using lentiviral mediated vectors and RNA interference. He has received the IPRS Award from the Australian Commonwealth Government, as well as research grants from University of Queensland and The Cancer Institute of NSW.
Dr Yang trained at both the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Liverpool Hospital, worked as a staff specialist in Anatomical Pathology and was Head of Molecular Pathology at Liverpool Hospital prior to his appointment at SydPath.
His areas of interest and expertise include diagnostic gastroenterology pathology, pancreatobiliary and liver pathology, renal pathology, cytopathology and molecular pathology of cancers.
