SydPath’s Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory provides a comprehensive Therapeutic Drug Monitoring service as well as detection and identification of drugs of abuse. We are also a major referral centre for a number of state and national health care institutes.
Our laboratory has “state of the art” instrumentation including mass spectrometry, high pressure liquid chromatography and gas chromatography.
Our Therapeutic Drug Monitoring service provides: patients undergoing transplants with measurement of a broad range of immunosuppressants; measurement of cardiac, anticoagulant and anti-psychotic treatments; measurement of antibiotic levels to monitor infectious disease treatment in critically ill patients; monitoring antifungal drugs levels and HIV and Hepatitis C treatments levels.
We have developed and implemented a range of assays for the purpose of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and continue to enhance this service to meet changing clinical demand, and support a broad range of clinical research projects. We also provide a drug dosing and efficacy service using computer modelling for a range of therapeutic drugs.
